and Thought Leadership
LEXINGTON, Massachusetts— June 12, 2007—ITSMA, a
membership community for technology services and solutions marketers,
announced today that Chris Koch has joined the company as associate director
of research and thought leadership. Koch will work closely with ITSMA’s
leadership team, executive councils, business partners, and subject matter
experts to help define and grow the business. This will include the development
and packaging of compelling research on marketing and sales trends, solutions,
and technology industry issues.
An award-winning writer and editor, Koch brings over 20 years of experience
in journalism, and more than 10 years covering information technology
and business. Koch most recently served as executive editor for CIO,
a trade magazine for chief information officers and other IT leaders
with a circulation of 150,000. He was responsible for conceiving, assigning,
and editing feature stories and columns on IT strategy, and directed
and developed content for special sections and surveys. In addition,
Koch authored a popular blog (“Koch’s IT Strategy”)
on CIO’s website and was frequently a speaker at technology
conferences.
“We are thrilled to have Chris join our organization,” said
Dave Munn, president and CEO of ITSMA. “As a seasoned journalist
with a strong knowledge of the industry, Chris will bring immediate value
to ITSMA and its members.”
Koch began his career as a reporter for a variety of newspapers and
as executive editor for Bicycle Guide magazine. Not long after,
Koch joined Computer Sciences Corporation. In the role of communications
manager, he wrote and edited articles on business and IT strategy for
internally-generated publications and the general press. He also helped
edit and market The Discipline of Market Leaders, a best-selling
book on business strategy.
“I'm very pleased to bring my knowledge of C-level buyers to ITSMA
